『肆』 英文原著《红字》里面的英语是什么发展到时期的英语

霍桑是19世纪的作家，他所使用的应该算现代英语了。我想，英语不是一成不变的，随着工业革命的全球化扩散，英语也随之扩散，从而吸收了各地的语言及词汇来丰富自身。作为一个美国作家，他所使用的英语来自英国，在原有基础上可能吸收并改造了部分当地的印第安人所使用的语言习惯、词汇及语法。同时，随着美国在第二次工业革命中的崛起，美式英语开始蓬勃发展，显现出与英式英语的区别。建议阅读书虫的改写版《红字》。其实，现在英语也还处在不断变化当中。我在阅读《Pride and Prejudice》的英文原著时，也遇到了类似疑惑，不过比较少。
